Saint Francis’ birthday is October 3rd, followed by his feast day. Born into wealth, he renounced luxury after a prison experience to devote himself to religion. He is known as a stigmatist, the first to bear Christ’s wounds. He is the patron saint of animals, merchants, and ecology.
