All About You has been here since 2017.
Nine years of writing, praying, making, and building. Most of it quietly. Most of it unseen by anyone but God and a faithful few.
My mother passed away in 2016. It toppled my life upside down. She had always been there for me and my family. She babysat my children when they were small so I could work, and losing her made me realize how deeply I wanted to be able to care for the people I love.
During that season of soul-searching, I earned my CNA license. It was a promise to myself that I would never again be unprepared to give someone I love the care they deserve.
That same searching led me here.
All About You was born in 2017 out of grief, love, and the need to understand what mattered most — a place to reflect, and to help others do the same. From 2017 to 2022, my husband and I sold handmade goods at farmers markets. The website and the making grew up together.
When I started making products in 2019, I built a separate site on Wix because I believed reflective writing should remain separate from products. I did not think money belonged beside thoughts, prayers, and reflection.
But from 2019 to 2024, I spent enormous time and energy trying to maintain two separate worlds while traveling full-time for work. Eventually, I began asking myself whether these two sites were truly different at all.
What I know now is that the conflict I feared never existed. The reflective writing and the handmade goods were never in opposition. They were always expressions of the same desire: to care for others well.
By the end of 2024, I decided to close the Wix site and bring everything home to WordPress. The writings came with me. The products moved to Etsy, where we are still refining the transition toward curated bundles and collections rather than single items.
My husband will continue building commissioned American Traditional furniture through traditional joinery with little reliance on screws or nails, while I create complementary pieces designed to live alongside his work.
Here is what that looks like going forward. The writing continues as it always has — the reflections, the 3 AM prayers for the nations, the stories. The workshop now has its own door: his commissioned furniture, my pieces alongside it, and the smaller handmade things on Etsy. Nothing you came here for is going away. The house simply has more rooms.
This is still All About You.
It always was.
And always will be.
