We placed Jesus in the tomb. A massive stone has been rolled in front of it. Centurions have been positioned to prevent any theft of His body.
I breathe more slowly and deeply, laborious. I am overwhelmed with grief, unable to express.
How could this be?
Why?
Why?
Why did my Lord have to die?
There is a heaviness in the air. Sounds are quiet, as if something profound is occurring.
All is quiet.
We look at each other with questions that no words can express.
But what do we do now?
What guidance did He give us?
Where do we go?
How can I sleep this night?
I try to sleep. I toss and turn until morning.
Has this all been a mirage?
As we rise in the morning, we look at each other. We know we are all carrying the same questions.
We move through our day solemnly.
We heard His words:
“The stone that the builder has rejected shall be the cornerstone…
I will raise up the temple in three days.”
What did He mean?
