A whimsical forest path with wooden signs pointing in different directions—Yes, No, Maybe, Snacks—surrounded by squirrels and autumn leaves, evoking playful confusion and lighthearted decision-making.

Trust Your Instincts (Unless They’re Weird)

Trust your instincts.
Unless your instincts are telling you to cut your own bangs at 2 a.m.
Or to buy a goat.
Or to text “hey” to someone you haven’t spoken to since 2008.

Then maybe… pause.

But also, don’t overthink it.
Unless your instinct is to overthink.
In which case, trust that.
Or don’t.
It’s really up to you.

Because instincts are like squirrels,
sometimes they lead you to hidden treasure,
and sometimes they just panic and run into traffic.

So today, follow your gut.
Unless your gut is just hungry.
Then maybe eat a snack first.

This has been your official non-advice for the day.

Dramatic and earnest, but if you imagine this song sung by someone deciding between tacos and laundry, it becomes unintentionally hilarious. Try it!

    1. Me too! That’s why I love my husband. He’s a let’s do it type while I am the opposite. It balances.

  2. my instincts don’t usually have anything good to say at 2 am LOL

    1. 2 am is not a particularly good time to make decisions especially when you don’t want to be up. Completely time….lol Thanks for reading.
