This weekend, I gave myself permission to rest. I stayed home, caught up on things, and let the pace slow down. I didn’t make any jewelry, and that’s okay. Sometimes the most sacred thing we can do is simply pause—to breathe, to be, to let the quiet settle in. I needed that, and maybe you did too.
With the holidays approaching, I’ve been gently preparing. The presents are all purchased, and tomorrow I’ll begin wrapping them with care. I’ve gathered everything I need to make Christmas candies and cookies—chocolate and peanut butter fudges, truffles in different flavors, and a growing list of cookies: chocolate chip, macadamia nut, oatmeal raisin, and peanut butter oatmeal no-bake. I’m still exploring what else to bake, letting joy and memory guide the way.
For Thanksgiving, I’ll be bringing sweet potatoes—simple, nourishing, and full of tradition. I want this year to feel special, not because everything is perfect, but because it’s offered with love. Each cookie, each ribbon, each quiet moment is part of that offering. Even the restful weekend, where I didn’t do much at all, feels like part of the preparation.
So here’s my blessing for you: May your own days be filled with small joys and gentle rhythms. May you find peace in the pauses and purpose in the preparations. May your creativity flow from love, not pressure. And may you know that even the simplest gestures—like a cookie shared or a story told—can carry deep meaning.
And now I’d love to hear from you. What cookies or candies bring you joy this time of year? What are your favorites to bake, to gift, or to savor slowly with a cup of something warm? Let’s share our sweet traditions and maybe discover something new together.
