A Prayer for God’s Blessings on Families, Nations, and the World, Day 255, North Korea

Thank You for today. Thank You for all that You do for me each and every day, including that which I fail to notice. Thank You for taking care of my family, friends, and acquaintances. I ask that You shield and protect them, guide them in this life, and bring them safely home to You. Let them know that You are always with them. Never let me forget Your presence in my life, and guide me safely through it.

Lord, I humbly seek Your favor. Please touch the hearts of the young. Help them to appreciate the sacred gift of marriage. May they value the delicate sounds of children. Enlighten their vision to see the profound beauty in sharing life with someone they love deeply. May they be open to the joys and sorrows that come with the bond of marriage. May they also embrace the unique joys and challenges that children bring into their lives.

Dear Heavenly Father, guide me to be the light others need to find their way back to You, never hiding my light under a bushel basket. Grant peace within to those who seek it. I ask for Your protection and guidance over our country, our political officials, our clergy, and people throughout the world. Inspire those in positions of influence. Encourage our leaders, entertainers, athletes, and business leaders to embrace Your love. Help them reflect it to others as members of Your family. May their light shine brightly, drawing others into Your presence. Help us to see one another as You see us.

I ask for conversion and mercy for all sinners, and mercy for the souls in purgatory. I joyfully pray for the healing of the sick, trusting in Your will. Help those who are walking through life’s trials and tribulations, showing them the light and strength to carry on. Thank You, Lord, for the abundant life You have given me. I ask that Your angels fiercely protect us from the powers of evil that challenge our world, including the archangels appointed over each nation. Bring Your peace to every country and every people.

Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, North Korea rises before You as a land of mountains, rivers, and silence, a nation where faith once flourished openly, and where today Your Church survives only in hidden hearts and in memories carried across generations.

You remember, Father, the days when Pyongyang was alive with Catholic life, when Maryknoll missionaries taught the Gospel, when Benedictine monks prayed at Tokwon Abbey, when religious sisters served families, when Korean clergy shepherded their people, and when Catholic schools and parishes stood as signs of hope across the northern peninsula.

You remember the Diocese of Pyongyang, its priests, its religious, its lay faithful, and its shepherd, Bishop Francis Hong Yong‑ho, whose arrest and disappearance became the symbol of a Church forced into silence.

You remember the Martyrs of Pyongyang, Bishop Hong and his 80 companions, clergy, religious, and laypeople who were imprisoned, dispersed, or killed during communist persecution and the Korean War. Their witness remains alive even where their voices were taken.

Heavenly Father, we lift before You the people of North Korea as they endure severe food shortages, flood‑damaged farmland, malnutrition among children, and the constant fear of oppression. Have mercy on families who survive on minimal rations, on communities isolated by flooding, and on those who face famine conditions.

Father, protect the underground believers, those who whisper Your name in secret, those who gather quietly without priests, those who risk imprisonment for owning a Bible, those whose faith survives only through courage and grace.

Bless the canonical Diocese of Pyongyang, entrusted to Our Lady of Fatima in 2020 on the Solemnity of the Assumption. Let this dedication be a sign of hope for reconciliation, peace, and the healing of a divided peninsula.

Bless the weekly reconciliation prayers offered by Catholics in South Korea, the Rosaries, the Masses, the 1,500th reconciliation Mass celebrated in 2026, all lifted for families separated, for believers suffering secretly, and for a Church that cannot speak for itself.

And Mary, Mother of Fatima, Mother of Korea, Mother of the persecuted, Mother of the hidden Church, wrap North Korea in Your mantle as gently as dawn over the Yalu River. Let Your peace rest on North Korea. Let Your love strengthen its people. Let Your Church, though silenced, remain unbroken in Your sight.

Dear Lord, we joyfully implore You to surround all restless souls awake in the stillness of this night with Your peace, Makenna, those affected by 9/11, wars, Lauren, Freddy, Caryn, Nicholas, Tim, Selena, Matt, Jessica, and all people around the world and those on the prayer list. We especially remember those in need: the weary finding rest on the streets, under bridges, in hospitals, and their families, knowing that hope and healing is within reach.

Lord, please intercede among all peoples. Show them by to resolve differences without fighting, rioting, or harming one another. Open our eyes to the beauty of putting You first in our lives and living together in peace.
Bless the work of our hands. Guide us in the care of the world You have entrusted to us. Let all labor be done with dignity, honesty, and love.
May we all understand that differing opinions need not divide us, but can lead us toward deeper understanding.

Thank You, Lord, for being in our lives. Your presence is the beauty we see in our lives.

We come before You seeking Your guidance for Pope Leo XIV. Make him a pure vessel filled with Your Holy Spirit. Let no worldly influence sway his heart from You. May every word he speaks reflect Your truth and align with Sacred Scripture. May his will be surrendered fully to Yours, and may Your angels shield and protect him from all evil.

We ask that our places of worship be filled to overflowing, and that perpetual adoration chapels never are empty. Protect our clergy, strengthen them, and help them remain faithful to the mission You have entrusted to them.

We lift up every spoken and unspoken intention held within our hearts.
In Your holy name we pray. We adore You, and may our love for You grow deeper with every passing day.

Be Salty.
