“A whimsical glowing Magic Button on a morning bedside table surrounded by an alarm clock, sunlight, and cozy blankets, representing a playful reset for chaotic mornings.”

The Morning Magic Button

Hey everybody!
I had one of those mornings.

Just yesterday… the alarm went off, and instead of waking up gracefully like a functioning adult, I accidentally tossed the clock across the room like it personally offended me or it was some type of Olympic Feat. And then, because life likes to keep us humble, I fell right back to sleep.

When I finally jolted awake, I had 15 minutes to get dressed and bolt out the door. Fifteen. Minutes. In my heroic dash, I caught that corner of the bed. You know the one. The corner that lurks quietly until you’re rushing… then bam! straight into your shin like a bad mamma jamma.

And yes, it hurt that bad.
Now I’ve got a bruise big enough to fit the state of Texas.

But the morning drama wasn’t done.

Traffic?
Backed up from here to kingdom come, maybe even the ends of the earth. Every car was moving like they had all the time in the world, while I was silently pleading, “Come on, y’all, I have places to be!”

I had an 8 a.m. meeting, my customer was already on the way, and the universe was absolutely not cooperating. If I missed this meeting I would hear it. Man, I didn’t want that to happen.

Because traffic wasn’t moving, I decided to call my customer to tell them that I was going to be a bit late. Well… that backfired. I was told in no uncertain terms if I couldn’t make it on time thin they could go elsewhere where they were appreciated.

That would mean I would lose the account. Then came the dreaded thought:

“Oh wonderful… now I’ve got to explain all of this to my boss.”

In that moment, what I really wanted was a do-over.

You remember that old Staples Easy Button?
Imagine if we all had our own version — not just “easy,” but truly magic.
And not just for Tuesdays — but for any day of the week that decides to start off sideways.

Here’s how mine would work:

Tap once – the whole day pauses. Everything freezes so you can take a breath, fix your hair, regroup, or find that missing shoe hiding under the bed.
Tap twice – rewinds time by exactly 15 minutes, just enough to save you from disaster.
Tap three times – instantly transports you to where you should be, coffee in hand, shin un-bruised, and dignity restored.

Now that would be a Morning Magic Button.

Have you ever had a morning like that—one where everything goes wrong before you even leave the house?
How did you handle it? I’d love to hear your stories… maybe we all need a Magic Button.
