A cozy living room glows with Christmas warmth. In the foreground, soft blankets—one white faux fur, one red-and-gray knit—are draped over a seat beside a lit candle. In the background, a fireplace crackles and a Christmas tree twinkles with golden lights and red ornaments. The scene evokes comfort, preparation, and festive anticipation.

Christmas in Motion: A Season of Early Joy and Handmade Grace

I know this is early. But…what are your plans for Christmas? Me. I am already planning. I told my husband that I want all the presents bought before Thanksgiving. Trust me. I have plans. Once the presents are bought, then begins the fun. Decorating…And this year am going to make candies and truffles. And just maybe some cookies.

I have been thinking about it for at least month now. When I was in Ohio, I bought all the girls their presents. I had to ship back to the house because it wouldn’t fit in my suitcase. Dang it! Lol. Most if not all of the presents are handmade and were painted in Poland. I hope they like it.

While in Pittsburgh, I order some presents for the the younger kids. Our youngest grandson had his birthday last week and next month the our middle granddaughter. Since they don’t live near us, I have decided that we will send all the presents at Thanksgiving so I am not too late for the birthdays.

I have a few presents left to get. The big guys… And I might make some presents to give away. I know big plans. If you know me any, you know when I work, I have my must get done list, then my I really would like to accomplish list. It usually means I don’t mess around. I ain’t got time. Idle hands the devils workshop. lol

And this is only the beginning of my plans.

I want…
I want to do…
I want to …

What about you? Are you planning for Christmas now so that you can enjoy the holidays at an even pace? That’s my game plan. Next time I’ll try to tell you what I am cooking…

  1. I help a little, but my wife is the Christmas Master. Like you, she buys gifts and decorates early, while listening to a steady stream of carols. She steeps herself–and me, bless her–in the spirit of the season.

    1. She’s smart because all the way through the season she gets to have fun without the stress. And you are lucky to enjoy it all.
