What Your Refrigerator Says About You

I have been looking at my refrigerator lately. I see the many items on it and think about other refrigerators that I have seen in houses. I have pictures and all sorts of items on mine. I find a refrigerators to be a reflection of one’s life and those around them. Just curious. What’s on yours?

Here’s mine. In my pictures that I post I like to be careful of identifying family. I have a few who do not want to be in pictures or want to get permission first. Thus the pictures have been removed.

I put reminders and tidbits which help to keep me focused on things that need to be done or how to behave or learn. I want to stay focused on the most important people and things in life. There seems to a purpose behind each item. A few items or from places I have been.

On left there is something that says “Are you a good steward of God’s stuff?’ & “What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?” These remind me that nothing I have in life belongs to me, not the earth, not my children, not my life. Everything belongs to God and should be treated care and respect because I was taught that someone loans you something you should always return it in the same condition or better. No, I am not a tree hugger, but I do take care of the environment around me. Additionally, I am reminded that I should go ahead and try. There are things God puts into your life so that you can fulfill them. Below those two is a Philippians 4:13. Again, a reminder that God is the one who gives me strength. If I allow Him, He will lead me where I need to go.

On the right, we have a to-do list, and more biblical passages. Again, Philippians. But this time from chapter 4. Under that is my reminder to put things in perspective. Is it a want or need? Sometimes we get those confused. I know I do. Finally is a magnet from Lover’s Leap in Tennessee and a poem that I have already shared.

So my question for you is “What do you have on your frig, and why or why not?

  1. What a great observation! This is so true. I will go now and unclutter the side of my refrigerator that is magnetic.

    1. Mary, I have wedding announcements, bulletins, and memorabilia from the kids on the sides. These all reflect something about my life. I think it’s beautiful. Keep yours the way it is.
