First of all, I want to wish everyone a happy Labor Day weekend!
Now to discuss peaches. Recently, I was in Georgia and purchased peaches, Asian pears, and apples with plans to process them. So tomorrow is my peach day. FYI…today is National Peach Day and this month is dedicated to peaches.
I have already cut up some of the peaches. I had to give a few to our chickens and ducks because they were already starting to go bad. Not terribly, but enough that they couldn’t be used in canning. I’m sure they enjoyed them.
Anyway tomorrow I will make Spicy Peach BBQ sauce and maybe a peach cobbler to go with our dinner. I will share the results once I am finished. I know I will add a little bit more spice.
Afterwards to maintain the peach theme of the day, I will make peach soap and maybe some lotion. You see, I had a dear friend who recently retired that I would like to show how much she means to me and she likes the smell of peaches.
She has been a helping hand when I needed and is always so positive. She is definitely an inspiration. She worked hard. Definitely showed me that anything can be done with even smallest resources. I think she either knew the little engine that could or that ant that moved the rubber tree plant. I am open to naming suggestions.
