Peace and tranquility…Imagine a day without stress, and without commotion. Just total tranquility…
Now close your eyes and imagine. Where are you? I’m sure there is somewhere you find very special. Are you in the mountains, by a lake, in a cave in a desert, somewhere very different? Now I want you to stop thinking and slow your breathing. It’s okay. Nothing is going to happen with or/to you. This is your special space.
Did you bring someone or something with you? Cool if you did. Just don’t let them invade your private space. This is your quiet moment.
Have you begun to relax? Good. Now, as you are relaxing focus on each part of your body telling it to relax start with the bottoms of your feet and work upwards. We are working towards total relaxation.
Now that you have started relaxing, begin focusing on your inner peace. Forget the world. It’s not important. Not one thing in this world matters at this moment, nor in 20 years from now. I want you to focus on you and what’s most important.
Let’s stay here for a moment and feel the peacefulness overcoming you. Notice the smells, the birds chirping, everything that you can sense around you. As you are absorbing everything, start counting your blessings. Thank you for this moment. Thank you for the ability to see. Thank you for all my gifts and that stuffy old person down the block who always smiles at you.
And thank you for all the hard times, the times and moments that drive you nuts. Guess what? Those times and moments only help you to grow stronger.
Enjoy this time for a while. This is peace. Take this feeling of inner peace with you as you go about your day.
