Getting up in the morning and loving life—that’s my motivation. Not just the good parts, but all of it: the trials, the tough times, the moments that nearly broke me. They light up my life now. I’ve learned to be grateful for every little thing, no matter how insignificant or painful it seemed at the time. I made it through. The good, the bad, and the ugly shaped me. Every mistake brought a blessing I now cherish.
As I told my sister when she asked how I could be so happy, so content after everything I’ve been through:
Don’t look in the rearview mirror.
When we dwell on the conditionals and the past, we lose sight of the road ahead. I don’t want to live there. Been there, done that. It only brings sadness and depression—and I refuse to be numbed by a pill that dulls my emotions.
I understand that some people need assistance, and I honor their journey. But for me? I want to feel it all. The sorrow, the struggle, the beauty, the joy. I want to live fully—awake to the pain I’ve survived and the love that still surrounds me.
After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.
Job 42:10
Remember Job in the Bible. We can make it. Pray always!
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances…”
1 Thessalonians 5:16–18
