The Joy of Rereading: Books That Inspire

Oh, okay, let’s do this—I’m in! So, have you ever thought about what books you could read over and over again? For me, it totally depends on why I’m rereading it. You know what I mean? Like, sometimes it’s about entertaining the kids, sometimes it’s about soaking in wisdom, and other times it’s about reconnecting with faith.

Take The Monster at the End of The Book. I love reading that one to kids. Grover’s antics? I mean, he’s freaking out the whole time while you’re turning pages, and the kids are just giggling. But the best part? Switching voices for each character. You’ve got Grover sounding nervous and dramatic, and if there’s another voice, oh, you’re bringing out the full show! Honestly, you’re not just reading the book—you’re putting on a performance. Don’t you love books like that?

But then, there’s The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino. This one hits different. It’s like a pep talk for your soul. It’s inspiring without being preachy, and it makes you want to work hard and live with integrity. You could read it a hundred times and still find bits of wisdom that stick with you. Every time I read it, I think, “Wow, I needed to hear that again.” And besides have you ever tried to read a single chapter several times a day before going to the next chapter the next day.

And of course, The Bible. Now that’s a book you can keep going back to forever because it’s not just about the stories—it’s about the deeper truths behind them. Whether you’re reading the Psalms for comfort, the Gospels for inspiration, or the Proverbs for wisdom, it’s like you’re always finding something new. Plus, it’s not just reading—it’s engaging with God’s word, reflecting, and letting it guide you. How amazing is that?

What about you? Do you have favorites you love returning to, for any reason? I mean, books that bring joy, wisdom, or just give you a chance to create those unforgettable moments. Let’s chat about the ones that we could read and reread forever—it’s fun to share what makes them special!
