That\u2019s a good question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-b2fad8e523a764af655e8fc5f4ff5cee wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">But let\u2019s pause right there. <em>Thing<\/em> implies something physical\u2014and I don\u2019t like the word <em>thing<\/em>. It suggests a possession of little importance. Why would I carry a thing around with me? What would be a better word? <em>Object<\/em>? <em>Stuff<\/em>? <em>Article<\/em>? <em>Item<\/em>? I like those words much better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8616304328d46710a3d01e16bdf2124d wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">But if it were a <em>thing<\/em>, and of little importance, which I carried, I guess it might be a hangnail. I\u2019m only guessing, since I usually do not carry things of little importance on me. And hangnails would be something that, if they disappeared, I really wouldn\u2019t care. I would actually be happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f53005d325eed5a9ae267f38338172b1 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">Now, if you are speaking of an item, article, or object, then I would have to say I have four things on me most\u2014if not all\u2014the time:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6c148a33f9a9a2134f74c8282a3de7e2\" style=\"color:#000000\">A necklace, which my son gave me<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4df372f6361d14becd1e37c547ac79ed\" style=\"color:#000000\">A rosary bracelet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-54fcdd754d6314e421b734cfe16757ce\" style=\"color:#000000\">A scapular<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-74d1074d90d3f7824a2ac1991d2f63cf\" style=\"color:#000000\">My wedding band<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-720fafcfcc85b5fc3ff82e0f34c1b6ad wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">Each one is there for a purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-a91b0ea75af661fc3ba617aa8fe97fb6 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">If we are to look at the question from a philosophical or religious or some other arena, then we venture into another thought process. I carry my sense of self with me at all times. So do you, by the way. I carry my faith in the Blessed Trinity with me and in me at all times. Other things I carry with me all the time include certain beliefs and scientific expressions which cannot be changed. Two plus two will always be four\u2014unless somehow proven otherwise. My soul is carried with me at all times. I carry with me my being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2305d40dde3f0236f5bb9c338b2823df wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000000\">That being said, the most important thing to carry with me all the time is a very dynamic and personal question. It is a question that most probably cannot be answered completely.
