{"id":56,"date":"2025-01-05T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-05T16:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/myallaboutyou.com\/?p=56"},"modified":"2025-01-01T19:32:53","modified_gmt":"2025-01-02T01:32:53","slug":"feast-of-the-three-kings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/my-all-about-you.com\/es\/2025\/01\/05\/feast-of-the-three-kings\/","title":{"rendered":"Feast of the Three Kings"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong><em>When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of King Herod,<a class=\"fnref\" href=\"http:\/\/www.usccb.org\/bible\/matthew\/2\/#48002001-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><sup>*<\/sup><\/a> behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, \u201cWhere is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star<sup><a class=\"fnref\" href=\"http:\/\/www.usccb.org\/bible\/matthew\/2\/#48002002-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">*<\/a><\/sup> at its rising and have come to do him homage.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>Matthew 2:1-2<\/h2>\n<h4>January 7th is the Feast of the Three Kings.\u00a0 It is, also, known by other names as well.\u00a0 Some call it the Feast of the Magi or\u00a0Feast of the Epiphany or Little Christma<b>s<\/b>.\u00a0 So who were these Kings which traveled to page Jesus homage. \u00a0Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar were their names.\u00a0 They came in search of the newborn king.\u00a0 Just as we do.<\/h4>\n<p>In south Louisiana, we serve king cake during this time to symbolize our search for the baby Jesus.\u00a0 Inside each cake is placed a baby.\u00a0 Starting on the Feast of Three Kings until Mardi Gras (Shrove Tuesday), the king cake is served and parades ride through the various communities.<\/p>\n<p>The traditional colors are purple, green and gold symbolizing royalty.
