18\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cRemember not the former things, n<\/span><\/em>or consider the things of old.<\/span><\/span><\/em>
\n19\u00a0<\/sup>Behold, I am doing a new thing; <\/span><\/em>now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?\u00a0 I<\/span><\/span><\/em> will make a way in the wilderness <\/span><\/em>and rivers in the desert.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n

We all have our first beginning, the moment when we were first born. Throughout our lives, we have many beginnings. Whether it is the first time we crawled, rode a bike, had a snowball stand, or first day of college. We are constantly beginning this journey of life. Sometimes our beginnings fail and sometimes succeed…But, more often than not, it is a success.<\/p>\n

As this New Year begins, many of us will decide we have to make changes in our lives-new beginnings. This seems like it can be a daunting task, but we just need to put one foot in front of another. Trust in what you know to factual and true. Believe in yourself. And have faith that God will lead you through it.<\/p>\n

Looking back at the ease or the perception of ease in the past only slows down the progress which is meant for the future. Apply the knowledge of that which has been proven to work to your future endeavors and build upon the firm foundation of experience.<\/p>\n

In Exodus, we find the Jews looked back to their past, wishing on what they once had. They spent 40 years in the desert before they made it to the Promised Land. If they had taken the time to stay focused the journey would have been easier.<\/p>\n

We are called to look forward toward the horizon, toward Our Heavenly Father and discover our full potential.\u00a0 He provides with us manna for the journey as well as the living water.\u00a0 Our journey through life will have moments of deserts.\u00a0 March on!\u00a0 Don\u2019t look back. \u00a0Keep a joyful heart and be thankful for all tribulations.\u00a0 We may not feel His presence in our lives.\u00a0 But, stay focused.<\/p>\n

Just as he led the Jews in Exodus through the Red Sea, through the desert and into the Promised Land, he will lead you and me. \u00a0Wherever this journey may go, whether it is to feed the poor, open a snowball stand, or to college, stay focus and praise Our Lord through the good time and the tribulations, and enjoy each new beginning.<\/p>\n
