September is National Sewing Month. It was created by Ronald Reagan to acknowledge of home sewing. They have found items that were sewn back in 25,000 BC, the Upper Paleolithic Age. The sewed animal skins and plants together. Bone and ivory were initially used as needles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first sewing machine was created in 1750 by Thomas Saint but it became widely known once Isaac Singer improved upon it. Up until the 19th century sewist (seamstress)hand sewn whatever was made. Can you imagine sewing the 18th century clothes by hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been since I was a young child. I remember sewing at six or seven years old. My mom allowed me to just sew material together. It was a really terribly made quilt. At least that’s what I would call it now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, the majority of clothes are produced in facilities that often overlook the intricacies of the human body. In truth, a shirt designed for either gender can be worn by individuals without regard for their unique body shapes. I am a advocate for the creation of more form-fitting garments that cater to the diverse and individualized needs of wearers. A few tucks here and there so that you can see how wonderfully the human body is made. You can hide flaws by putting the tucks in the right place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
