I set out to listen. To wonder. To walk slowly through the question: What does it mean to become a saint – holy not in the – eyes of the world, but in the eyes of God? I wasn’t looking for perfection. I was looking for what it takes. For the quiet, daily choices that shape a soul. For the grace that meets us in our weakness and invites us to keep going.

That series became a space to reflect on the ordinary and the sacred, the seen and the unseen, faith and works, the moments that form us when no one is watching. It was never about arriving. It was always about becoming.

On Discernment

From there, I turned toward discernment – not as a formula, but as a manner of being. I shared reflections on how we listen for God’s voice, how we test the spirits, how we wait and walk and wonder. I wrote about the difference between fear and caution, between peace and passivity. I explored the tension between longing and letting go.

Discernment, I’ve come to believe, is not about finding the “right” answer. It’s about becoming the kind of person who walks with God through any answer. It’s about trust. And trust is slow work.

The Compass Series: A Shift in Direction

Out of that space, the Compass Series was born. I had hoped it might be a kind of spiritual guide, a gentle roadmap for others on their journey of faith. I imagined writing every other Friday at 10 a.m., offering reflections that might help orient hearts toward God.

But through prayer and discernment, I’ve come to see something clearly: this pilgrimage is far too personal, too intimate, and too sacred for me to guide anyone else through it. I cannot lead you on your journey. I can only walk my own with the Blessed Trinity beside me, clothed in the armor of God and share what I learn along the way.

So I’m releasing the idea of a schedule. I’m releasing the idea of being a guide. And I’m returning to what the Compass Series was always meant to be: a quiet offering. A moment of orientation. A lantern held up, not a leash pulled tight.

What to Expect Going Forward

The Compass Series will continue, but not on a set schedule. There will be no post every other Friday at 10 a.m. Instead, I will write when I feel led, when something stirs that might be of benefit to others. As we each travel on our path, each journey is uniquely different and at a different pace.

Each Compass post will be marked by a featured image with a small compass inset. That will be your sign: this is a moment of direction, not destination. A moment that felt worth sharing. A moment that might help you pause, reflect, and realign.

The topics will vary, but they will remain rooted in the Christian faith in God. I’ll reflect on different forms of prayer, the lives of saints, the grace of the sacraments, the daily work of virtue, and the struggles we all face with vice. I may share other insights as they arise, always with the hope that they will bless, not burden.

A Final Word

If you are seeking direction, I encourage you to pray. To seek a spiritual advisor. To trust that God is already walking with you, even when the path feels unclear.

I cannot walk your journey for you. But I can hold up a compass now and then, and say, “This is where I’ve found light.”

May we all keep walking – slowly, faithfully, and with wonder.

With grace and peace,
~All About You

I didn’t set out to define sainthood.
