Johnny Popper<\/a> doesn\u2019t work the big fields anymore. But he still pulls. He still plows. Just not a whole bunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These days, he hums through the garden rows and helps with the yard. His pop is louder, his jump more pronounced. But he\u2019s still moving. Still serving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My husband knows him well, knows what he needs, how to coax him forward, how to care for the aches. He doesn\u2019t ask Johnny to be what he once was, but to be what he is today. Johnny\u2019s still got it. And that\u2019s enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnny doesn\u2019t need to be what he was. He just needs to be loved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
